Immersing myself into this great music has been quite a departure from years of writing and performing all original contemporary jazz but an absolute necessity for me. I joke about being from Brazil (Brazil, Indiana actually) but the truth is that I’ve always felt a connection to these amazing chord progressions, melodies and rhythms, so much so that it felt like a homecoming two years ago when I started collaborating with Roberto, Gerardo and others including Ron Brinson, Raoul Pedro, Stan Hillis, Cliff White whose musical contributions provided the perfect foundation to this new musical love of mine. Thanks so much to The Indianapolis Latin community and The Jazz Kitchen for embracing and supporting this musical adventure. Oh so much gratitude to the composers of these songs and all who shared their talents on this project. To quote Toti, It’s been just "beeuteeful”.
