"Ms. Morris was cool. She showed me a whole new way to think about my instrument"
Phil Chesterfield, senior
Noblesville High School

Cathy Morris obviously enjoys working with students as much as she enjoys playing music!
With her lighthearted, enthusiastic and often times humorous approach she is able to captivate the student's attention and lead them on a whole new adventure in sound.
Proud to be one of the few "pied pipers" of the electric violin she has recorded four CDs under her name, has performed on numerous stages in and outside of the United States,
appeared as a guest artist on countless other recordings and played back up for for many national artists.

No matter where she plays however, Cathy loves what she is doing and everyone can tell! Whether in kindergarten or college, a player or not, everyone is able to pick up on the electricity generated by the genuine love Cathy has for music and life! Consequently, over the years this attitude and approach has left lasting and even life changing
impressions with literally thousands of students.

She's affiliated with Young Audiences of Indiana, Meridian Academy of the Arts, Indianapolis Jazz Foundation, Midwest Jazz, Very Special Arts and the Indianapolis Local 3 A.F.of M.

SILKEN STRINGS

The Silken Strings offer a refreshing and unique approach to string music. Their distinctive sound and unique presentation separates them from any other group in the midwest. They go far beyond their classical origins playing jazz, pop, movie sound tracks and familiar favorites from around the world. Originally from Columbus, Indiana the group is comprised primarily of family members Cathy Morris (violin) Dale Spurlock (bass) and Lise DeLong (viola) and is now located in Indianapolis. Joined by a second violinist and cellist this entertaining quintet has seen thousands of school children in association with Young Audiences of Indiana giving educational concerts statewide and serving as clinicians at numerous string festivals.

"I must say Cathy has made a believer out of this writer, from her live performances to her highly credible album. If you're not convinced, get the CD"
- Chuck Workman, NUVO
